The Apothecary Project supports myriad marginalized communities, organizers, front-liners, midwives, mamas, teachers, healers & many others with limited access to basic care that is vital to our personal & collective dignity.
EARLY YEARS
$10K IN REMEDIES SHARED
DURING INITIAL COVID YEARS, THE APOTHECARY PROJECT GIFTED $10,000 IN HERBAL CARE TO BLACK, WOMEN-LED NETWORKS IN NEW YORK CITY. WE’VE SINCE BEEN GROWING & BLENDING REMEDIES THAT WE ARE NOW SHARING THROUGHOUT OUR HOME-BASE OF WNC POST HURRICANE HELENE. OUR PREVIOUS RECIPIENTS INCLUDE:
HARRIET'S APOTHECARY :: An intergenerational, healing village led by the brilliance & wisdom of Black Cis Women, Queer and Trans healers, artists, health professionals, magicians, activists & ancestors. Our village, founded by Harriet Tubman & Adaku Utah on April 6 2014, is committed to co-creating accessible, affordable, liberatory, all-body loving, all-gender honoring, community healing spaces that recognize, inspire & deepen the healing genius of people who identify as Black, Indigenous & People of color & the allies that love us.
ASHEVILLE BLACK WOMEN IN COMMUNITY :: A personal network of Black Women leaders in our hometown of Asheville, NC has grown over 25 years of living in the same small segregated mountain town. Here, the fight is just as real in this historic moment. The herbal gifts will be distributed by + for everyday Black folx as a reminder that we are not alone. That care, generosity, solidarity, inspiration + hope are valid + real. Recipients will include Black teachers, Black musicians, Black healers, Black organizers, Black care-givers + more.
UPTOWN GRAND CENTRAL :: An organization that has been dedicated to transforming East 125th Street into a thriving corridor by providing high impact programs, partnerships, employment opportunities, beautification, festivals, environmental projects & economic opportunities. We put advocacy into action through collaboration with local businesses, residents & neighborhood organizations across East Harlem. We support, strengthen & showcase all that is "grand" about our neighborhood.
AFRICAN HOLISTIC HEALTH CENTER :: A learning institute that promotes African-centered holistic principles + provides sacred support systems to People of Color. We promote holistic lifestyle modalities + encourage people to actively participate in their own health + wellness. We support holistic health practitioners by connecting them with the community + offering continuing education. We also bring educational resources & events to the community at large. Building stronger families with natural health & wellness.
